CLWYC Events

Even though Chief Lake Wilderness Youth Camp is under construction, we will be promoting and holding outdoor programs during that time. These events will be examples of our many venues available to camp residents once we are in full operation. Most, if not all, will be offered at no cost to participants during our construction phases. We welcome monetary and material donations that will help offset the cost of providing the events. Program donations will be used only for the events they are given for. Please visit our Donate page for details.

Events – Past – Current – Future

2012 YOUTH ICE FISHING EVENT
Saturday January 28, 2012, CLWYC held its first annual “Youth On Ice” event. Thanks to a large and generous donation from HT Enterprises and many volunteer mentors, the event was a huge success. Although the weather was cold and gusty, over 60 family members came out and had a great time. What a great way for the family to share unforgettable times together.

YOUTH ARCHERY EVENT

In August 2011, CLWYC and program partner The Great Lakes Outdoor Foundation, held an introduction to archery for youth of all ages. Support for this event was realized both near and far. Boys and girls from all over the Upper Peninsula and upper Wisconsin attended. They received hands on instruction from professional instructors who generously volunteered their time and resources. With their help and other staff volunteers, the event was a huge success. Most importantly, the kids had fun and learned about archery.
